VECTRAN™, KURALON™ and KURALON K-II™ Take the Spotlight at Techtextil North America
Representing Kuraray America’s Advanced Materials team at Booth 1500 were Hidekazu Taniguchi, Forrest Sloan and Matthew Reid, who connected with attendees to discuss technical textile needs, potential applications and opportunities for Kuraray’s fiber technologies.
Kuraray America, Inc. participated in Techtextil North America 2026, held August 4–6 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, showcasing advanced fiber technologies for high-performance technical textile applications, including:
▪ VECTRAN™ Fiber
Among the technologies featured was VECTRAN™ fiber, a high-performance material designed for applications requiring properties such as high strength and modulus, dimensional stability, flex-fold fatigue resistance and thermal performance.
The event provided an opportunity to introduce attendees to the capabilities of VECTRAN™ and discuss how its performance characteristics may support demanding textile applications.
▪ KURALON™ and KURALON K-II™ fibers.
KURALON™ fiber offers high tensile strength and alkali resistance, making it particularly relevant for construction-related applications. KURALON K-II™ includes water-soluble PVA fiber grades, expanding the range of potential uses available to customers and application developers.
While construction remains a primary focus, Kuraray America continues to explore opportunities for these materials in new applications where their performance characteristics may provide value.
▪ Kuraray with MiniFIBERS, Inc.
Kuraray America also highlighted its collaboration with MiniFIBERS, Inc. on an improved VECTRAN™ staple fiber.
The material features improved crimp designed to support staple fiber spinning applications, demonstrating how collaboration across the value chain can help adapt advanced materials to evolving processing and application requirements.
Techtextil North America provided an important setting for conversations around technical textiles, material performance and new application possibilities.
