Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI) participated in SEMICON West 2026, held October 13–15 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. The event brought together semiconductor and electronics industry professionals to explore technologies, materials, and solutions supporting the evolving electronics manufacturing landscape.

Representing Kuraray America's Isoprene Chemicals Team, Shun Okura, Will Kang, and Ryo Shibazaki showcased the company's specialty chemical portfolio at Booth #6561, highlighting functional solvents, specialty diols, and polyols for electronics and industrial applications.

Highlighting Specialty Chemical Solutions for Electronics

Throughout the three-day exhibition, Kuraray presented several products designed to address formulation and processing requirements across electronics manufacturing and related industries.

MMB: Functional Solvent for Electronics Cleaning

3-Methoxy-3-methyl-1-butanol (MMB) is a water-soluble alcohol solvent used in industrial cleaning and electronics applications.

Its stability under acidic and alkaline conditions, combined with a controllable evaporation profile, makes it suitable for formulations used in photoresist removal, printed circuit board cleaning, and other electronics cleaning processes.

MMB also offers formulation flexibility where solvent compatibility, cleaning performance, and evaporation control are important considerations.

MTHP: Reaction Solvent for Chemical Processing

4-Methyltetrahydropyran (MTHP) is an aprotic, polar, and hydrophobic solvent used in chemical synthesis and processing applications.

With its balance of polarity, solvency, and extraction performance, MTHP offers an alternative solvent option for selected chemical reactions, including processes associated with electronic materials.

Its low miscibility with water can also support solvent recovery and process simplification.

Specialty Diols and Kuraray Polyol

Kuraray also highlighted its portfolio of specialty diols and KURARAY POLYOL, including materials used in polyurethane, polyester, and polycarbonate formulations.

These products support a broad range of material performance requirements, including flexibility, durability, adhesion, and chemical resistance.

Their applications extend across coatings, adhesives, industrial materials, and other specialty formulations.

Connecting with the Semiconductor Industry

SEMICON West 2026 provided an opportunity for Kuraray America's Isoprene Chemicals Team to present its material capabilities to professionals across the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing supply chain.

The exhibition reinforced the importance of specialty chemical solutions in supporting increasingly demanding electronics manufacturing processes.

Through its portfolio of functional solvents, diols, and polyols, Kuraray continues to support customers seeking materials tailored to their processing, formulation, and performance requirements.
