Team Kuraray America employees walked, ran and participated virtually in the 2026 Susan G. Komen Houston Race for the Cure, united in support of those impacted by breast cancer.
Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI) marked a meaningful first with its inaugural company team at the 2026 Susan G. Komen Houston Race for the Cure, held October 3 at Sam Houston Park.
The event brought together 24 KAI employees, participating in person and virtually from communities across the United States. United in support of those impacted by breast cancer, Team KAI walked, ran and raised funds, exceeding its fundraising goal by 41%.
Team KAI’s First Race for the Cure by the Numbers
The team’s participation reflected the time, energy and support employees brought to the effort:
24 KAI employees participated.
Employees across the U.S. joined in person and virtually.
5K walked or run.
41% above the team’s fundraising goal.
100% of the team’s funds raised by employees.
Some employees walked, others ran, and virtual participants joined from their own communities. Across different locations and paces, they shared one purpose: supporting people affected by breast cancer.
Marking Kuraray’s Centennial Through Community Support
As Kuraray celebrates 100 years in 2026, the event offered another way to mark the milestone through employee participation and community support.
For Team KAI, the experience provided an opportunity to turn support into action and stand alongside a community working toward better outcomes for those impacted by breast cancer. Every walk, run, donation and show of support contributed to the team’s first Race for the Cure.
Thank You to Our Team Captains and Participants
Team captains Brooke Kuithe and Reshma Bond coordinated KAI’s participation, helping bring employees together around a shared cause.
Thank you to our captains and to everyone who walked, ran, donated and supported the team. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are grateful for the employees who gave their time, energy and support to this effort.
Continuing to Give Back
Team KAI’s participation adds to the ways employees support causes that matter to them and their communities.
