Across our organization, employees help bring that commitment to life through environmental action and community involvement. Participation in the Trash Bash® event hosted by Galveston Bay Foundation reflect our commitment to caring for shared spaces for both the people and the planet.

Earth Day also gives us a chance to recognize the role product innovation can play in broader sustainability efforts. One example is EVAL™ EVOH resin, which has been awarded APR Design® Recognition by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) confirming our EVAL™ EVOH resins meets APR’s design-for-recyclability criteria for compatibility with polyethylene film recycling streams when used within certain parameters. The APR Design® Recognition signals that the industry can move beyond traditional trade-offs to deliver solutions that meet certain performance requirements while supporting a circular economy.

Beyond product innovation, Earth Day also offers an opportunity to reflect on how environmental responsibility is supported through our operations. The Kuraray Group recognizes the importance of responsible resource management and continuous improvement. That long-term mindset reflects through Kuraray’s Medium-Term Management Plan, “PASSION 2026”, which challenges every Kuraray facility to identify energy-saving investment opportunities and achieve measurable reductions in utility use and waste production while upholding the production quality our customers rely on.
