La Porte’s 30th Health & Safety Fair: Kuraray America Shares Fire Safety Education

Our team provided a fire extinguisher simulator to help students and families better understand proper fire safety techniques.

At Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI), safety is the cornerstone of everything we do.

That commitment was on full display this past weekend at La Porte High School during the 30th Annual Health & Safety Fair, hosted by the La Porte, Morgan’s Point, and Shoreacres Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). KAI volunteers joined local organizations, schools, and neighbors for a day dedicated to emergency preparedness.

Our team provided a fire extinguisher simulator to help students and families better understand proper fire safety techniques. Just like any equipment or tool, proper demonstration before use is critical. Fire extinguishers are no exception.

By raising awareness of these techniques before an actual emergency, this simulation reinforced an important message: get out, stay out, call 9-1-1.

Sharing hands-on fire safety with our neighbors is a natural extension of our work at KAI, and it was great spending the day out in the community sharing these essential tips and tools.

Thank you to the LEPC and everyone who stopped by. As Kuraray celebrates its own 100-year anniversary, we know how meaningful long-standing traditions are, and we were honored to support the LEPC on reaching their 30th annual milestone.

A special thank you to our dedicated volunteers Richard Bass, Kimberly Scales-Williams, BS-Occupational Safety Health, GSP, Rebecca Price Rhoden, CSP, Erin Hance, and Eddie Johanson.
