Kuraray Bright Futures Connects Students with Career Pathways at Dr. Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School

What made this visit especially meaningful was seeing members of our team who started as interns return to the classroom as full-time employees.

The Kuraray Bright Futures (KBF) program at Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI) brought a group of our professionals into Dr Kirk Lewis Career And Technical High School in Pasadena, TX, for facetime with the students.

Students asked thoughtful, direct questions like,
- What does your day REALLY look like?
- How did you get to where you are today?
- What do you wish you had known earlier in your career?

The Kuraray America, Inc. showed up with honest answers. No scripts and no slides doing all the talking. Just real stories from engineering, IT, and procurement professionals sharing what their careers actually look like.  What made this visit especially meaningful was seeing members of our team who started as interns return to the classroom as full-time employees. Sitting on the other side of the table, they showed students that these paths aren’t distant goals. They’re within reach.

That is what KBF is all about. Creating real connections, sparking genuine conversations, and inspiring future generations.

At KAI, we are incredibly proud of the team who took the time to invest in these students. Thank you Joseph Murphy, Yanet Guerra, and Clifton Riley for making this experience especially meaningful.
