Kuraray America Supports Galveston Bay Foundation’s Trash Bash® 2026

Removing trash before it enters our waterways helps protect local species and habitats, while also supporting cleaner, healthier spaces for our surrounding communities.
Rising Star Ryan Martins Kuraray

For more than a decade, Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI) has proudly participated in the Galveston Bay Foundation’s River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash®, joining community volunteers in helping clean waterways and protect the Galveston Bay watershed.

KAI’s participation supports the Kuraray Foundation of America, Inc. (KFA), a Silver Sponsor for Trash Bash® 2026. KFA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that oversees charitable contributions and sponsorships to Kuraray Group employees and their communities.

For the 32nd annual event, our KAI team was >45 volunteers strong and our primary efforts focused on the Armand Bayou, one of the last unchannelized bayous in our region and an important connection to Galveston Bay. In combination with other community volunteers, the event achieved a total collection of 1,164.9 pounds of litter and 9 tires.️

Efforts like Trash Bash® reflect our commitment to caring for shared spaces for people and the planet. Removing trash before it enters our waterways helps protect local species and habitats, while also supporting cleaner, healthier spaces for our surrounding communities.

We are grateful to the Galveston Bay Foundation for organizing this longstanding effort and to everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, and a special thank you to our volunteer lead, Soncirae Li, and leadership support by Hans Vandommele, Vance Darr, P.E. and Frank Taylor
