In recognition of #WorldEnvironmentDay 2026, themed “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” Kuraray America, Inc. is proud to share that our PVOH La Porte, TX and EVAL Pasadena, TX sites have been recognized with the 2025 Recycle and Sustainability Award presented by HPP.

Recognition Across Sites
This award reflects a combined effort across both sites to divert recyclable materials, including soil and concrete, from landfill disposal and giving them a second life through HPP’s recycling process.

EVAL has supported this recycling pathway for more than 13 years, and La Porte began sending qualified materials to HPP in 2025. Together, the sites have contributed a cumulative total of 130,924.55 net tons of recycled material.

How the Process Works
HPP recycles soils, sands, concrete, and asphalt, giving these materials a second life in infrastructure applications such as road building and paving.
*All soil sent to HPP is tested according to regulatory requirements and must qualify as non-hazardous material*

For People and the Planet
Every practical opportunity to reduce landfill disposal helps support more responsible material management. For our teams, it reflects the value of looking beyond standard disposal methods and finding better pathways when available.

This recognition is one more example of #ONEKAI in action: teams working together to identify opportunities and turn them into measurable results.

As we reflect on World Environment Day, this effort is a reminder that progress can start with practical choices: reducing waste, reusing materials and recycling.
