Kuraray America Celebrates Japanese Heritage and Community at Japan Festival Houston 2026

Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI) was proud to sponsor and participate in Japan Festival Houston 2026, bringing together KAI’s Japanese heritage and its connection to the Houston community for a weekend of cultural celebration.

Hosted by the Japan-America Society of Houston (JASH), the two-day festival offered attendees an opportunity to experience Japanese culture through traditional and contemporary art, live music, authentic cuisine, family-friendly activities, and shopping featuring Japanese goods and crafts. The festival is an annual celebration of Japanese culture in Houston and promotes cultural exchange between Japan and the United States.

As an Entertainment Underwriter sponsor, Kuraray America was proud to support programming that helped make a weekend centered on cultural connection, education, and community engagement possible.

The celebration was especially meaningful as Kuraray marks its 100th anniversary in 2026. Founded in Kurashiki, Japan, in 1926, Kuraray has grown into a global specialty chemical company while maintaining a strong connection to its Japanese heritage. For KAI employees in Houston, the festival provided an opportunity to celebrate that heritage while supporting cultural understanding within the local community.

Throughout the weekend, 21 KAI employees volunteered across multiple shifts, supporting festival activities from Saturday morning through Sunday evening. This participation reflects Kuraray America’s broader commitment to giving back to the communities where its employees live and work. Kuraray America has also been a multi-year sponsor of Japan Festival Houston.

Kuraray America extends its appreciation to every KAI employee who volunteered and to JASH for continuing to bring the Houston community together through culture, education, and meaningful people-to-people exchange.
