Kuraray America Joins AmericaPack 2026 to Discuss High Barrier Packaging

Kuraray America, Inc. recently participated in the AmericaPack & Pharmaceutical Packaging Summit 2026, hosted by Marcus Evans Group at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, Massachusetts.
During the summit, Kuraray America hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Bridging Shelf Life and Sustainability in High Barrier Flexible Packaging.” The session was led by Diana Maya, Americas Market Development Manager, EVAL, and Tom Black, Director of International Business, PLANTIC.
The discussion focused on the growing need for high barrier flexible packaging solutions that can help balance product protection with sustainability goals. For many food, pharmaceutical, and consumer packaging applications, oxygen barrier performance plays an important role in helping preserve quality, support shelf life, and reduce product loss.
Kuraray America’s onsite team highlighted two key performance technologies that support these needs: EVAL™ EVOH and PLANTIC™.
EVAL™ EVOH is a high oxygen barrier resin widely used in packaging applications where shelf life and product protection are critical. Its barrier performance helps limit oxygen exposure, supporting freshness, quality, and longer product stability across a range of packaging formats.
PLANTIC™ is a plant-based high oxygen barrier performance material designed for paper and/or plastic packaging applications. By combining strong barrier properties with renewable material innovation, PLANTIC™ supports packaging structures that align with growing sustainability and circular economy priorities.
