Yanet also credits her supervisor, Yasunari Tsukamoto “Rocky”, for giving her the guidance, trust and opportunities to continue growing her technical skills and take on greater responsibility within the team.

Better access to data can change how a team works. For an intern at Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI), improving that visibility became an opportunity to develop a solution her team could continue using beyond the summer.

For our 4th From-First-Day-To-Full-Time series spotlight, meet:

👥 KAI Intern Cohort 2023
🏫 The University of Houston, Main Campus
📜 B.S., Computer Information Systems
💼 IT Specialist, KAI Headquarters, Houston, TX

For Yanet, seeing her work provide lasting value to the team helped her recognize that she could build a career at KAI. Her internship was not limited to completing an assignment; it gave her the opportunity to understand a business need, develop a practical solution, and see that solution become part of the team’s work.

That foundation continues in her full-time role, where she supports SAP and helps maintain the systems employees rely on across the organization. Her journey reflects what can happen when early contributions are valued and given room to grow.

Yanet also credits her supervisor, Yasunari Tsukamoto “Rocky”, for giving her the guidance, trust and opportunities to continue growing her technical skills and take on greater responsibility within the team.

Watch the video to hear how seeing the impact of her work influenced Yanet’s decision to continue her career at Kuraray America.
