KuraSafe in Action: Embedding Safety in Every Decision at Every Site

True safety leadership means building systems that work long after you leave the room. Kuraray America, Inc., this belief is at the heart of #KuraSafe, our enterprise-wide safety framework, guided by the American Chemistry Council Responsible Care® principles and executive commitment. CEO Hans Vandommele and the Senior Leadership Team drive KuraSafe as a strategic initiative, strengthening our culture of safety, empowering every facility to take ownership, and creating a safer workspace for our employees and local communities. KuraSafe turns our safety commitments into action through seven core elements, including incident investigation, behavioral safety, employee engagement, and cultural analysis. It's a program that not only meets industry benchmarks but moves them forward.

Beth Veillon, one of our Corporate HSES Managers serves as the facilitator of the KuraSafe Core Implementation Team, coordinating closely with Site HSES Leaders to turn this vision action. With the latitude to guide timing and program features, Beth helps shape a proactive, people-first culture across sites while maintaining strong alignment with executive leadership. At the operational level, Charles Neal, General Manager of the PVOH Business Unit, serves as our "Champion," bridging strategy and execution, reinforcing KuraSafe's principles in day-to-day operations.

Together, this coordinated approach makes safety more than a program. It becomes a shared mindset, building a workplace where everyone is equipped and empowered to protect one another, upholding the highest standards of operational excellence for People and Planet.
