Media Briefing Held on Kuraray’s Products Supporting the Semiconductor and AI Data Center Industries
Kuraray held a media briefing titled “Kuraray’s Products Supporting the Semiconductor and AI Data Center Industries” on September 14, 2026.
As digitalization continues to advance across society, new and larger semiconductor manufacturing plants and AI data centers are increasing demand for water and electricity. At the same time, effective use of water resources and stable power supply have emerged as important challenges.
In the first session, Kimiyasu Imai, General Manager of the Environmental Business Development introduced the expansion of the AQUAVICSUS™ hollow fiber membrane business for wastewater reuse in semiconductor manufacturing plants, as well as future opportunities in the recovery of valuable materials from wastewater.
In the second session, Ryohei Hayashida, Assistant General Manager of the Environmental Solutions Division, presented the YP grade of KURARAY COAL™ activated carbon, a key material used in electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) that help stabilize power fluctuations in AI data centers.
Kuraray will continue to capture new business opportunities and pursue further growth in the semiconductor and AI data center industries, where strong market growth is expected in the years ahead.
