08/25/2013 Summer jumping at Shiozawa

Members of the Kuraray Cheering Squad headed to the 25th Shiozawa Ski Jump (Official Rank A of the Ski Association of Japan) on August 25, 2013 from the company’s bases in Tokyo, Niigata, and Tsukuba. The weather was clear and perfect for summer jumping. We were right by the landing slope (the area where the skier lands after jumping), so we could hear the sounds of the skis hitting the grass—as well as the voices of the athletes—up close and personal. It was really thrilling! We also saw Sara’s fantastic jumps as she became the only woman that day to clear the K-spot (her first jump was 81.5 meters, and her second was 82 meters). For that reason, she won the Grand Prize!
