Regarding the Judgment in the Intellectual Property Infringement Lawsuit Filed by Our Group Company in China

Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara) hereby announces that Kuraray (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a group company in China, has obtained a judgment in the lawsuit it filed in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China against Dongguan Qunan Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. for intellectual property infringement and unfair competition (previously announced in "Regarding the Lawsuit Filed by Our Group Company in China"). The court found that the defendant had infringed intellectual property rights and ordered the payment of damages.

In this lawsuit, the claims of our group company were upheld in the first-instance judgment rendered in January 2026. Subsequently, in May 2026, the Intermediate People's Court of Dongguan City rendered a judgment finding that Dongguan Qunan Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd. had infringed intellectual property rights and ordering the payment of damages.

Kuraray believes that its intellectual property rights are important management resources. Kuraray will continue to take appropriate measures against intellectual property infringement and acts of unfair competition in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
