This commitment is implemented globally through our well‑established Product Stewardship Program. We systematically evaluate the chemicals we use and produce, assess potential risks, and apply science‑based risk management measures to support safe handling and intended use throughout the value chain. Our standards and processes are designed to ensure regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement in safety and sustainability performance.

Our Product Stewardship activities are supported by multidisciplinary teams with expertise in chemical and downstream regulations, toxicology, risk assessment, hazard communication, and product stewardship. Together, these teams ensure Kuraray materials meet and often exceed applicable regulatory requirements and are accompanied by clear, accurate safety information.

Product Stewardship is a shared responsibility across Kuraray America, Inc. Every employee plays a role by understanding how stewardship principles apply to their daily work in helping optimize production processes, reduce environmental impact, and maintain a low environmental footprint.

Our stewardship efforts extend beyond Kuraray’s facilities. We provide customers and value‑chain partners with information, guidance, and technical support to promote best practices in the safe handling, use, and management of our products. We also collaborate with customers to develop solutions that enhance product recyclability, including product safety assessments and testing, and work with industry leaders and stakeholders to advance global chemicals management.

Kuraray products comply with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines worldwide, including:

• Adoption of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)
• Chemical risk assessments aligned with regulatory requirements such as EU REACH where local frameworks do not exist
• Support for global initiatives that promote sound chemicals management
