Kuraray Trading Co., Ltd. announces its decision to increase the price of polyester filament yarn by ¥30-¥50 per kilogram, for Japan and export shipments commencing June 1, 2010.
Due to recent skyrocketing prices of crude oil and naphtha, the costs of such key materials as purified terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol have been rising significantly. These costs far exceeded the Company's own cost reduction endeavors and brought about a rapid deterioration in profitability.
Under these circumstances, to maintain a steady supply and to improve profitability, Kuraray Trading has decided to implement the price revisions set out below.
|1. Scope of revision||Polyester filament, Japan and export shipments|
|2. Price increase||All brands to increase by ¥30-¥50 per kilogram|
|3. Effective date||Shipments from June 1, 2010|
