Packaging has to protect products while responding to customer expectations, sustainability goals, cost pressures and requirements for efficient processing. Depending on the product, packaging may need to control oxygen, gases, aromas, moisture or other substances while maintaining strength, sealability and appearance. These requirements apply across flexible and rigid formats, including films, pouches, bottles, trays and paper- or plastic-based structures.

Kuraray offers a range of high-performance materials for functional packaging, including EVAL™ EVOH, PLANTIC™, KURARISTER™ and other polymers and films. These materials can provide barrier, flexibility, sealing or structural functions depending on the application and packaging design.
