Kuraray to Transfer a Portion of Its IP Rights Related to KURARITY™ Acrylic Block Copolymer
Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara) hereby announces it has transferred a portion of its intellectual property (IP) rights related to KURARITY™ acrylic block copolymer to Otsuka Chemical Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Hiroyoshi Tosa).
On February 12, 2025, the Company announced it would end production of KURARITY™ by June 2026 and cease related operations.
Otsuka Chemical, which develops functional polymers, expressed interest in the transfer of IP related to the manufacture of KURARITY™, and we have now concluded a transfer agreement.
To be clear, our intentions regarding the already announced decision to continue production until June 2026 are unchanged. We will also continue to supply volumes individually agreed upon with customers.
We extend our wholehearted gratitude to our business partners and other stakeholders for their longstanding patronage of our KURARITY™ business and sincerely ask for their understanding.
