Kuraray Joins Japan Center for Engagement and Remedy on Business and Human Rights (JaCER)

Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara) hereby announces that it has joined Japan Center for Engagement and Remedy on Business and Human Rights (JaCER). As a member of JaCER Kuraray has established a grievance mechanism for all stakeholders by utilizing “Engagement and Remedy Platform” provided by JaCER.

JaCER provides a non-judicial “Engagement and Remedy Platform”—the Dialogue-Based Remedy Platform—in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and aims to support and promote member companies’ grievance-handling processes from a specialized and neutral standpoint.

The Kuraray Group promotes efforts to prevent, remedy, and mitigate human rights risks in its business activities based on the Kuraray Group Human Rights Policy.
Going forward, with the professional support and expertise provided by JaCER, we will further enhance fairness and transparency. Through the utilization of the“Engagement and Remedy Platform”, we will appropriately respond to human-rights-related inquiries and consultations from a wide range of stakeholders.
