Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumio Ito) announces its first exhibit at a Water Expo, which is to be held from June 29 as part of Singapore International Water Week 2010.
The Company has positioned the creation and expansion of new businesses centered on environmental fields using original technology as a vital management issue, and since establishing the Environmental Business Development and Promotion Division to concentrate the combined strength of the entire Group last April, Kuraray has proceeded to strengthen the Water Treatment.
In addition to strengthening businesses such as industrial wastewater treatment/recycling, ultrapure water production/collection and the collection of valuable resources, steady progress is also being made in the development of a ballast water management system contributing to the conservation of the marine ecosystem. This has led to the decision to strengthen our communication to the world by having an exhibit at the expo in Singapore, which is an international focal point for information on water-related businesses.

• Demonstration units, products and panels for hollow fiber membranes used in water purification and wastewater treatment.
• Panels concerning high-precision filtration devices used in collection and recycling of water and valuable resources.
• Demonstration units of PVA gel microorganism carrier enabling highly efficient wastewater treatment.
• Panels on the wastewater treatment system which uses PVA gel to enable space saving and significant reductions and in the production of excess sludge. Panels on the trial operation of the wastewater by Singaporean utility provider Sembcorp Industries.
• Video and panels on the MICROFADE ballast water management, which saves power and space while also ensuring safety.
