Kuraray America, Inc. donates $30,000 in industrial equipment to Robeson Community College

Investment supports hands-on training and future manufacturing careers

HOUSTON— Kuraray America, Inc. (Kuraray) has donated industrial equipment valued at $30,000 to the Mechatronics Program at Robeson Community College (RCC), near the company’s Fayetteville Works site in North Carolina, to provide students with hands-on training for future manufacturing professionals.

“Kuraray America is committed to equipping the future workforce with the skills needed for success,” said Ross Crews, Business Unit Manager. “Providing access to essential tools and training strengthens the communities where our employees, customers, and their families live and work. We are always aiming to create opportunities that benefit both students and the future of our industry.”

The donation includes six variable frequency drives —four standard and two larger models— essential tools in modern industrial settings. With this equipment, Robeson Community College’s mechatronics program— which blends mechanical, electrical and computer engineering—will provide students with hands-on experience to meet the demands of an evolving manufacturing industry.

This donation underscores Kuraray’s commitment to STEM education, workforce development, and industry-academic partnerships. By investing in hands-on learning, Kuraray is helping to build the next generation of manufacturing leaders while strengthening local communities.
