As part of its contribution to the promotion of art, the Kuraray Foundation* has long supported the restoration of artworks owned by the Ohara Art Foundation. With this in mind, we have decided to provide financial assistance for the restoration of El Greco’s “Annunciation,” which is part of the Ohara Art Foundation’s collection.
Professional restorers from the Prado Museum in Spain will be invited to carry out the restoration work, the painting’s first in approximately 60 years.

Kuraray Co., Ltd. will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. Looking ahead to this milestone, the Company will continue to plan and implement projects that will lay the foundations for future growth, ensuring its continued development as a sustainable enterprise.
With the cooperation of the Ohara Art Foundation, as part of the Company’s 100th anniversary project, we will create high-resolution digital images of some of the works in the Ohara Art Foundation’s collection, including El Greco’s “Annunciation,” using advanced technology. A documentary on the restoration of El Greco’s Annunciation is also in production, utilizing high-definition digital image data.
