Overview
PLANTIC™ is a biomass-derived gas barrier material created through collaborative research between industry and academia in Australia. Since it was commercialized in 2003, PLANTIC™ has gained recognition for its high biomass content, and has been adopted as an environmentally friendly material by major retailers and food manufacturers in Australia, Europe and North America.

- A multilayer sheet laminated with polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or skin layers on both sides of a special starch-derived biodegradable gas barrier layer rich in straight-chain amylose.
Gas barrier monolayer is also available.
- Excellent formability. Optimal for containers and trays, blister packaging, and vacuum deep-drawing packaging. Used in MAP packaging and gas exchange packaging due to its high gas barrier performance.
- The barrier layer (single layer) can be laminated with paper, polylactic acid (PLA), cellulose film, Bio PET and other substances. Enables the creation of a packaging material with biodegradability and compostability.
- Also available in barrier sealant grade laminated with a starch-derived barrier layer and sealant layer.
