Kuraray to Expand Its PVB Film Manufacturing Facilities in Europe Aiming for Full-Fledged Entry into the Automobile Industry

Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumio Ito) announces that it has made a decision to expand the polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film manufacturing facilities located in Troisdorf, Germany, operated by wholly owned subsidiary Kuraray Europe GmbH (KEG; Headquarters: Frankfurt, Germany). PVB film is used for interlayer films in laminated safety glasses for automotive and construction applications. Through this facility enhancement, Kuraray aims to meet robustly growing global PVB film demand. In addition, Kuraray has initiated a feasibility study looking into the establishment of new PVB film facilities in India, in anticipation for rapid demand expansion in Asia.
