Kuraray Co., Ltd. and Kuraray Trading Co., Ltd. have announced the decision to increase the prices of COMOGLASS PMMA (methacrylic resin) extruded sheets and PMMA cast sheets, for shipments commencing August 1, 2008.

PMMA sheets boast solid demand, mainly for various optical materials and transparent resins.

However, prices of crude oil and naphtha have risen significantly, and the two companies'operating income has been declining despite such robust demand.

Under these circumstances, Kuraray and Kuraray Trading both decided to implement price revisions of COMOGLASS PMMA extruded sheets and PMMA cast sheets with the aim of maintaining stable supply and recovering profitability. Details of the price revisions are as follows:

Japanese shipments of COMOGLASS PMMA extruded sheets and PMMA cast sheets

2. Price increase

20% increase for COMOGLASS PMMA extruded sheets
15% increase for PMMA cast sheets
