On August 23, 2010, Kuraray sponsored a Bring Your Kid to Work Day at its Osaka Headquarters (8-1, Kakuda-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City) during school's summer holidays.

Upon moving the Osaka Headquarters to the Umeda Hankyu Building Office Tower (a 41-story building approximately 187m high; on May 6, 2010, the date of the building's inauguration, the Kuraray Osaka Headquarters moved into the 39th and 40th floor), Kuraray planned a company visiting day for its employees' children to foster an understanding of their parents' workplace in the hopes of tightening family ties by helping children support their parents' efforts to balance work and private life. This was the first such occasion at the Osaka Headquarters.

On this occasion, 24 children of Kuraray employees working at the Osaka Headquarters were invited, and they gained a deepened understanding of the Company and its business activities by looking at product samples, such as a randoseru (school bag) made from CLARINO man-made leather; MAGIC TAPE hook and loop fastener; and food packaging using EVAL gas barrier resin.

Later, children visited the places where their parents actually work and practiced their communications skills with employees by introducing themselves with business cards.

At a gathering with employees and questionnaire after the visit, the children asked such question as "How can I work for Kuraray?" and comments included "It was wonderful to actually visit father/mother's workplace," "It was fun to exchange business cards" and "I enjoyed a wonderful view from the office."

Kuraray will continue to develop a workplace where employees can work hard yet achieve a balance between work and private life. In addition, it will continue to offer opportunities for children to think about their dreams for the future and possible careers by inviting them to the office.
