Kuraray Co., Ltd. (hereafter "Kuraray" or "the Company") has today announced its selection for inclusion in the index composition offering from Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes Asia Pacific (DJSI Asia Pacific).

Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) is a worldwide Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) index formed through the collaboration of U.S.-based Dow Jones Indexes and Switzerland-based SAM Indexes GmbH, a specialist in the analysis of sustainable investments.
Established in January 2009, DJSI Asia Pacific, for which Kuraray was selected, tracks the top 20% out of the largest 600 companies in the developed Asia Pacific markets. The current composition constitutes 122 leaders—of which 77 are from Japan—selected for sustainability in the three fields of corporate economic, environmental and social performance.
Kuraray positions as an important management issue its corporate activities that take into account society and the environment. Its performance of these activities is well received outside of the Company and has already come to the attention of global SRI indexes and other organizations.

At present, Kuraray has been selected by FTSE4Good, a benchmark SRI index provided by FTSE Group, an independent company jointly owned by The Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange; MS-SRI, an SRI stock price index offered by Morningstar Inc.; and Global 100, a listing of the world's top 100 ranked sustainable corporations chosen by Corporate Knights Inc. together with Innovest Strategic Value Advisors Inc. This inclusion into DJSI Asia Pacific further increases Kuraray's recognition among world-renowned SRI organizations.
Moving forward, the Kuraray Group aims to be a company that contributes to the realization of a sustainable society.
