Kuraray Specialities Europe GmbH (Headquarters:Frankfurt, Germany; President:Dr. Gerd Lepper) held a ceremony in Troisdorf, Germany on January 21 to mark the commencement of operations of the PVB film business it acquired from HT Troplast AG.
PVB film is used as the interlayer film in the manufacture of laminated safety glass for use in construction and automotive windshields. Significant growth in this market is anticipated.
With this acquisition, KSE has added PVB film manufacturing capabilities to its existing PVA and PVB resin operations, there by establishing a vertically integrated manufacturing system.
The ceremony, which was attended by Kuraray President Wakui, the mayor of Troisdorf, regional citizens, and KSE employees, and other guests served to deepen ties with the community as well as to launch the new business.
