Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Masaaki Ito; "Kuraray") announces it will be again among the exhibitors at the world’s leather trade show LINEAPELLE, which will be held in Milan, Italy, from February 21st to 23rd.

We will introduce a new lineup of products manufactured under the CLARINO man-made leather brand. Kuraray’s new lineup includes extremely natural-looking products created through an environment-friendly manufacturing process. These products look and feel more like natural leather than anything offered by the competition while boasting the greater functionalities that only man-made leather can provide. The samples we will have on display in our luxury-boutique style booth will highlight the appeal of our lineup, targeting high-quality apparel and leather product labels.

This international leather goods exhibition, held biannually in Milan, Italy, is one of the world’s largest such events. Each year, it welcomes more than 20,000 designers and buyers representing the world’s apparel and leather products industries. In the leather products industry, man-made leather is attracting more interest due in part to rising prices caused by a waning supply of natural leather coupled with greater awareness of the environmental impact of the leather industry and animal rights. At previous exhibitions, the top-of-the-line man-made leather CLARINO was highly praised.

Launched in 1965, CLARINO is Kuraray’s man-made leather brand. Employing a unique chemical process, Kuraray became the first in the world to develop a man-made leather with a structure that closely resembles the complex structure of natural leather (animal skin). Since it is strong, lightweight and easy to care for, CLARINO is widely used for men’s and women’s footwear, randoseru (school bags), business bags and camera cases as well as sports equipment, including shoes, balls and gloves that require superior strength and functionality. Moreover, the product lineup includes abrasive cloths and decorative materials. In addition, Kuraray has developed an environment-friendly manufacturing process for its highly natural-looking and functional man-made leather. Both looking and feeling more like natural leather than any competing product, Kuraray products boast the greater functionalities that only man-made leather can provide. Looking ahead, Kuraray will work to expand the man-made leather market as a leading company in this product category.
