Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President Fumio Ito) announces its participation in the Water Expo to be held from July 5, 2011 as part of Singapore International Water Week 2011. This marks the second consecutive year of the Company’s participation in the event.
Kuraray has positioned creating and expanding new businesses in environmental fields through the development of unique technologies as a vital management issue. In line with this strategy, Kuraray is leveraging the Group's collective strengths to accelerate its Aqua Business. As part of these efforts, the Company established an Overseas Environmental Business Promotion Department under the Environmental Business Development and Promotion Division in October 2010 in Singapore, an international hub for information relating to water processing businesses. In addition, the Company has assigned personnel dedicated to its Aqua Business to China and India and is currently focusing on developing its Aqua Business in overseas markets centered on Asia.
Kuraray has decided to participate in the Water Expo to strengthen the dissemination of information to the global market regarding its Aqua Business, which entails devices and systems used for the collection of silicon, coolants and other valuable resources, for the production and collection of ultrapure water and for the treatment and recycling of industrial wastewater.
