Kuraray Co., Ltd. and Kuraray Trading Co., Ltd. have announced the decision to increase the prices of COMOGLASS PMMA (methacrylic resin) extruded sheets, PMMA cast sheets and PMMA extruded mirror sheets for shipments commencing April 21, 2010.

Due to recent skyrocketing prices of crude oil and naphtha, the costs of key materials have been rising significantly, causing deterioration in profitability across all Kuraray and Kuraray Trading PMMA sheet businesses. In contrast, the current vigorous demand for PMMA sheets is continuing, primarily for optical applications.

Under these circumstances, Kuraray and Kuraray Trading both decided to implement the price revisions listed below-involving COMOGLASS PMMA extruded sheets, PMMA cast sheets and PMMA extruded mirror sheets-with the aim of maintaining stable supply and recovering profitability.
