KURARAYKURAFLEX Co., Ltd. announces that it will revise the prices of the base fabrics of and products in its KURAFLEX dry-laid nonwoven fabric and KURAFLEX-MB melt-blown nonwoven fabric lineups, beginning with shipments made on February 12, 2008.

These upward price revisions will be the first since July 2007.

The persistent rise in crude oil and naphtha prices is further pushing up raw material and fuel prices. The cost increases attributable to these price hikes are more than canceling out the effects of the upward price revisions and cost reduction initiatives that the Company has implemented to date. As an unfavorable consequence, KURARAYKURAFLEX's revenues and earnings continue to decline. Reflecting on these circumstances, the Company has decided to upwardly revise the prices of the aforementioned products.

Brief details are as follows.

1. Products Targeted for Price Revision:
  • (1) Entire lineup of base fabrics for household goods (hygienic products, wet wipes and other products)
  • (2) All products for commercial use (counter cloths and other wiping cloths)
  • (3) Entire lineup of base fabrics for industrial goods
2. Price increase:
10% across the board
3. Effective date:
From shipments on February 12, 2008
