Static Resistant Hose · Oil Resistant Hose
Kuraray Plastics Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka; President: Katsuhiko Kishi) has developed two lines of burnable, eco-friendly, non-PVC hose. The hose for use with oily and fatty foods, and the anti-static hose for use with powdered and granulated foods, will be available for purchase by food processing companies and food processing machinery manufacturers from the beginning of September.
Kuraray have previously marketed non-PVC, eco-friendly hoses made of Kuraray's styrene thermoplastic elastomers, which do not produce dioxins or other toxic substances when incinerated. In recent years, public attention has been focused on the use of environmental hormones as plasticizers in the PVC used by the food processing and packaging industry. There has been a rising need for substitute products to resolve this issue.
The two types of hose most recently developed further differentiate and add higher value to this product line in accordance with market needs. The hose for use with oily and fatty foods is coated on its interior surface with an oil resistant resin, and the oil resistance this confers makes it ideal for the transport of fatty and oily foods. The other type is made of a compound containing conductive material. Because the hose is conductive, no metal grounding wire is needed. This property prevents the generation of static electricity when powdered and granulated foods are piped through this hose.
The introduction of these two hoses satisfies virtually all the hose needs of the food-related industries.
Oil Resistant Hose
1. Characteristics
- (1) Because the interior surface is coated with oil resistant resin, its high oil resistance makes it ideal for use with oily and fatty foods.
- (2) This hose is in compliance with the standards for oily and fatty foods established in the Food Sanitation Law(Japan), as n-heptane elution tests indicate total residue of 150 ppm or less.
- (3) Because this hose is made of a non-oil material based on a Kuraray styrene elastomer, which contains no plasticizer, this hose emits no dioxins or other toxic substances when incinerated.
- (4) Contains no environmental hormones.
- (5) It is lightweight and easy to work with.
- (6) Contains reinforcing fibers, which gives it approximately 5 times the pressure capacity of unreinforced hose.
- (7) Can be cleaned by flushing with hot water at 80℃ (0.1Mpa or less for 30 minutes or less).
2. Specifications and Dimensions
- (1) Dimensions
- 38(internal diameter, 38.2mm; external diameter, 54.0mm; maximum rated pressure, 0.7MPa)
50(internal diameter, 50.8mm; external diameter, 67.5mm; maximum rated pressure, 0.5Mpa) - (2) Structure
- Corrugated external surface type
- (3) Material
- flexible portion ··· styrene elastomer
rigid portion ··· polyolefin
reinforcing fiber layer ··· polyester.
3. Sales Targets
First year : ¥30 million
After three years : ¥100 million
Static Resistant Hose
1. Characteristics
- (1) A Kuraray styrene elastomer specially compounded with a conductive material and containing no plasticizer is used for the flexible portion, which prevents the generation of static electricity when powdered and granulated foods are transported through the hose.
- (2) Meets the elution test total residue standard established by the Food Sanitation Law. (However, this hose does not meet standards for oily and fatty foods.)
- (3) Eco-friendly, emits no dioxins or other toxic substances when incinerated.
- (4) Contains no environmental hormones.
- (5) It is lightweight and easy to work with.
- (6) Can be cleaned by flushing with hot water at 80℃ (0.1Mpa or less for 30 minutes or less).
2. Specifications and Dimensions
- (1) Dimensions
- 25(internal diameter, 25.4mm; external diameter, 36.5mm; maximum rated pressure, 0.1Mpa)
38(internal diameter, 38.2mm; external diameter, 49.6 mm; maximum rated pressure, 0.1Mpa)
50(internal diameter, 50.8mm; external diameter, 63.0mm; maximum rated pressure, 0.1Mpa) - (2) Structure
- smooth interior surface; corrugated external surface type
- (3) Materials
- flexible portion ··· conductive styrene elastomer compound
rigid portion ··· polyolefin
3. Sales Targets
